Current Goal

To travel from Auburn, WA USA to Takaungu, Kenya in honor of Mike McCarty and the good work he does with the East African Center. It's ultimate goal would to have its picture taken at the center before returning home to Seattle.

About This Item

One of Mike's many adventures!

The East African Center was founded in 2002 and is in its 11th year of helping communities achieve empowerment. Mike McCarty has been working with the EAC since the beginning and in fact was on the founding board. He did a rough survey on the land, designed and built the original buildings, as well as dug the building foundations. His compassion and dedication has touched many lifes, including his own. He describes his work as "(the) Greatest thing I have done in my life. It will be tough to top."


When he is not busy enriching the world, he is enriching the members of the geocaching community. His love of people exudes to those around him.  Besides being an important part of the geocaching community, Mike is and avid photographer and world traveler.
