I'm told it has lost its Wimbledon tag.  So sad -- that part didn't even last a month!  Oh well -- please keep moving it anyway!  (09/06/2011)

GRAND SLAM TENNIS

This TB is in honor and celebration of my mom, Linda.
It wants to travel to all four of the Grand Slam tournaments, finishing with Wimbledon in 2012. Here are the coordinates for the four stadiums where the events are played, and the dates they will be played.  If the TB gets logged within 3 miles of each, I’ll consider it a WIN.  Within 5 miles, we’ll call it LOVE.

After the last tournament, at Wimbledon, it wants to become a free spirit of Tennis Travel, going wherever tennis players can scratch out a court and a game.

This is in honor of my mom, Linda, who fell in love with tennis at age 30. Never one to be selfish keeping her skills to herself, she began (and has maintained) the only wheelchair tennis program in El Paso, Texas about 15 years ago. Since then she has continued that tradition of service by coaching Special Olympics tennis for many years, and recently has also added helping Wounded Warriors return to health through tennis. She also happens to be a most excellent grandma!
