Castor the Park Ranger

Castor Canadensis is the latin name of the Beaver, a common animal found throughout Canada and much of North America.  Usually found by lakes or rivers these creatures build dams and logs creating entire wetland ecosystems around where they live.  This beaver is on an adventure to travel the world looking for places where it might find out more about other creatures and anythign else there is to learn!

I dropped off your travel bug in Wesselman woods nature preserve. this is the largest tract of virgin forest located within city limits is the United States. there is a good nature center here that presents fine programs. Several of the trees located here are state records. every spring they tap maple trees for the sugar bush festival.
