Did you know you can still sign and log archived caches?  Orion's Belt has been archived, but it's still out there!  If you are interested in finding the cache, you must start your journey at Eltnin, the Eye of the Dragon.  If you are continuing your search and arrived here from Mintaka, please follow the instructions below to find the tracking code for Alnilam and the coordinates for Alnitak, the last Orion's Belt star.

Alnilam, the middle star of Orion's belt, is approximately 1340 light years away from earth and shines with magnitude 1.70. Considering ultraviolet light Alnilam is 375,000 times more luminous than the Sun.

The coordinates from Mintaka should bring you to a long, high, narrow bench.  I had never heard of the person who’s remembered here, but was amazed and humbled when I did some research into this person’s story.

Orion’s Belt clues

C: The bottom line of the plaque on the bench gives the days the hero was born and died.  The last digit of the 4-digit year the person died is C.

D: The first digit of the 2-digit day of the month the person was born is D.

G: The number of letters in the first word of the top line is G.

Coordinates for Alnitak

T: The number of letters in the last word of the top line is T.

U: The number of letters in the first word of the fourth line down is U.

V: The second digit of the 2-digit day of the month the person died is V.
