Kometa Brno - Czech Republic

1) To commemorate Czech – American Friendship! Many people left the historical Czech lands: former Austrian-Hungarian Empire or former Czechoslovakia to seek freedom and happiness in the USA, also a few Americans live in the Czech Republic now. The declaration of independence of Czechoslovakia was signed at the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia. The American soldiers of General Patton’s army liberated a part of Czechoslovakia in the World War II. So, to visit caches dedicated to these topics.

2) To commemorate both countries passion and tradition and ice hockey (and for beer also).

3) TO SEE AN NHL GAME! To travel around all the countries, where the excellent ice hockey is played, especially and in the first place USA and Canada (then Finland, Sweden, Norway, Russia, Denmark, Switzerland, Germany and Austria, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia as well). To travel from cache to cache, preferably near or in the ice hockey arenas and with pictures please. To get in or close to the ice hockey arenas of the NHL (or other leagues, especially the university ones) - again with pictures. Go only to caches, where it is a chance to be quickly withdrawn, avoid mystery and multi caches.

4) If not hockey arenas, then at least caches near or dedicated to churches of The Moravian Church or some breweries =) may be please visited.

5) Please, DO NOT separate the Kometa keychain from the Czech flag travel bug.

6) Someday, to return back home to Brno, Czech Republic.

A Czech Flag Travel Bug and a Kometa Brno Keychain. In the dark deep communist times in 1953, a shining star came to Brno, a hockey club was born, under the former name Red Star Brno, but quickly got a lot nicer nickname Kometa - The Comet (and other official names too). Also quickly found the club the way to the highest Czechoslovak hockey league, and became a champion eleven times in the years 1955-1958 and 1960-1966. Unfortunately, between the 1970's and 2010's, Kometa wasn't doing so good, even after the 1989, the nickname became and official name. The results were so so .... and many years Kometa played the 1st and 2nd Czechoslovak and Czech leagues instead of the highest "Ice Hockey Extraleague". But for now, Kometa is back in the Extraleague, even two times in three years they played in semi-finals! And we all in Brno are extremely happy about it and are cheering for and keeping our fingers crossed. Some Kometa players and also ther club's CEO played in the NHL and returned back.
