Balto's goal is to travel by dog sled. With this goal in mind, Alaska is probably a good destination for him.

    Like I said on a prior log, I don't know which cache I got this guy from.

    I couldn't remember from which cache I got this travel bug and the prior person didn't enter which cache they put it in. However, I found a GREAT place for it! Since this cache is called "BALTO", I took it to the Iditarod Race Headquarters in Wasilla. I put it into the Cache Across America GCYV5X which is near the headquarters building. The goal of this little guy was to get to Alaska, now he has. Not only that, but he is at the Iditarod Race Headquarters which has a statue of Balto just inside the door. Here, you can take a turn being pulled by sled dogs and learn all about the Iditarod. I can't think of a better place for him - but wondered - couldn't we just let this trackable be displayed IN the headquarters building? Or should we find another goal for him? Like making it to Nome? What do the cache owners think? I already dropped him off, but maybe someone else could get it up there to meet the new goal. Just a thought.

    Well, in each of the previous two winters, Corky was leading the rest of the sleddog team around the trails in the Chugach Mountains and we thought we'd be able to give Balto a sled ride. This year, the snow is late, so we took a hike around the Moen Homestead trails to work off some pent up energy. Happy travels, Balto! Snow will come.
