About This Item

raw lapis

This is a Lapis Lazuli pendant that has been one of many in my possession for several years.  Lapis is known as the water stone, is associated with truthfulness, openness, inner power, love purification, intuition, and self confidence, and is very well known for its purifying and healing abilities. It is also known as a stone of universal truth and friendship or a “stone of total awareness” and promotes self-knowledge, abundance, wisdom, honesty, and communication.  It is reputed to bring about harmony in relationships, augment strength, vitality, virility, mental clarity, and illumination and it enhances psychic abilities and communication with higher self.

The ancient people used Lapis Lazuli because of its high healing power. It was known to protect the wearers from melancholy and depressing outlook. It is good for the physical as well as emotional well-being of the wearer. It also helps in sustaining their determination and stamina. Generally, it protects the wearers from dangers of any kind.

In early alchemic texts, they spoke of Lapis Lazuli as the Philosopher's Stone. The Philosopher's Stone is supposed to bring self awareness, enlightenment, and to open the mind to all astral possibilities.

The ancient Egyptians used to bury their dead with a scarab made from Lapis, as they thought it would protect them and guide them in the afterlife. They also saw it as a symbol of truth, as it brought you to see yourself for what you really are, and at the same time helps you to accept those parts of yourself that you may see as undesirable. And Buddhists believed that Lapis Lazuli brought peace of mind to its wearer.

Feel free to carry it with you a while and experience all it offers but be sure to share it with others by dropping it for someone else to carry when you find the right moment to let it go.
