To visit the region around the Indian city Pune, where the Ashtavinayak (Sanskrit: अष्टविनायक; aṣṭavināyaka; lit. "eight Ganesha (shrines)") in Maharashtra are located.

About This Item

Ganesha

This trackable was originally a key chain with a Ganesha symbol, given to me by Indian collegues visiting from Pune.

Ganesha, also known as Ganapati, Vinayaka, is one of the best-known and most worshipped deities in the Hindu pantheon. Although he is known by many attributes, Ganesha's  elephant head makes him easy to identify. Ganesha is widely revered as the remover of obstacles, the patron of arts and sciences and the deva of intellect and wisdom. As the god of beginnings, he is honoured at the start of rites and ceremonies. Ganesha is also invoked as patron of letters and learning during writing sessions.

Never having visited India myself I'd love for this trackable to make the trip over there. Hopefully someone will post some interesting pictures along the way.
