Here I am in the "Bush" (native scrub/bushland..forest) in South Australia.
Kangaroos hop by me and kookaburras laugh above me.
I am high on hill top with wonderful views. I hope these photos are just the beginning of a record of a wonderful holiday/journey in this wonderful country!

  • Here I am in The Australian Bush! I am up a Gum Tree (Eucalyptus). These are the native trees through out Australia there are many, many varieties!
Koalas like Manna gums, (this isn't one)
Gum trees are Evergreens, that is they don't lose their leaves in winter. The leaves on most Gum trees will actually turn to face the sun. After a bush fire these trees can be burnt and look dead but they are amazing and regenerate, shooting new leaves and branches after the next rain! http

  • The view from The Hill Top The land in the distance is no longer native...it has been cleared for grazing etc and is populated.

  • Here I am in South Australia They took me to see some kangaroos. Hoping more photos follow. These kangaroos were spotted in a field, feeding near dusk, (sunset). Sometimes you see one or two but often they are in a mob (group).
