THE OCTOPUS PROJECT – NORTHWEST
The Octopus Project was started with the goal of tracking eight separate travel bugs, each traveling in their own respective direction. There is one bug for each of the eight main compass points. We will be mapping the movement of these travel bugs, thereby created a virtual “octopus” on the map. Retrieving and moving this travel bug requires you to follow one simple rule:
Move this travel bug to another cache that is generally NORTHWEST of where you retrieved it from.
We will be launching these travel bugs from one single premium cache. We would prefer that you move this bug to another premium cache in order to better ensure its survival, but we understand that this may not always be possible. This suggestion is in no way intended to discourage the participation of basic members, but merely to better ensure the survival of the bug by exposing it to the most serious of Geocachers. Thank you very much for participating in our project, and thank you in advance for moving this travel bug along properly. We would love to see pictures of places that these bugs have been along there journey. Cache on!!
