Well, tried to come up with something interesting about bells. In the victorian era "safety coffins" were used to prevent accidential "live burials". Stories circulated of individuals attempting to claw their way through the coffins. Bells were attached above ground to the corpse allowing him to signal the nightwatchman in an effort to correct any mistakes.
If the bell is not needed for a burial, simply make with a "tintinabulation that so musically wells" and send the travel bug on its way!
