Current Goal

As a tribute to our family name, we'd like to see this coin go to Norway.  It would be fun to hear from others who share our family name.  ( We believe Berhaug is the original Norwegian spelling)

Now that the coin is in Denmark    [:)]  let me add some of our family history.  

We have traced the family back many generations to Ole Halversen Udager.  Ole's Grandson, Oliver immigrated to the United States around 1898.  Here is what I have found:

The family continues in the United States
 
It is probable that the native family name is NOT spelled Berhow, but is likely Berhaug.  

I don't have all the Norwegian special characters on my keyboard, so please excuse the "Americanization" of the font.

We left this with a note asking the next finder to take it to Utåker. It is placed in beautiful Alnavågen, 100 meters from the ferry to Kvinnherad.
