TeacherMatt released me, the Kate Waller Barrett Elementary School mascot, the first year our school opened. I left just before the dedication ceremony on a special mission for my classmates. Since the children at my school love to read, they asked me to visit all 50 states and find out everyone's favorite children's book.
At each stop, I want to tell my classmates about my adventures, and I would love to post pictures from as many stops as possible. The kids would also like to see me pose with each geocacher that helps me on my way.
Please keep me moving from cache to cache so I can visit all 50 states!
So far I have been to AL, AK, AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, HI, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, VA, WA, WI, WV, and WY! Keep me moving! (list updated 8-24-09)

Found it on the Appalachian Trail and plan to move it elsewhere!
My favorite book when I was a kid was called The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Took several travel bugs north with a traveling hockey team hoping to be dropped off at some interesting caches, however as it turns out there was even more snow then in southeast alaska! The cache at beautiful Emerald Lake was under about 4 feet of snow, not to mention that there was no way to even get close to the cache! (I'll download a pic soon of what it looked like) These bugs will have to wait a bit longer for the snow to melt so that they can make it out of the frozen north!
PS. The hockey team was 7 & 8 year olds from Juneau, that played in a hockey tournament against Canadian kids from all over the Yukon....and we took FIRST PLACE!

Not enough room to stick another thing in this cache without the lid popping off, so we will just travel on to the next cache that is accessable.....wonder where that will be???
Skagway, the place where this cache is located, was the jumping off point for gold seekers during the big Alaskan goldrush. It's a busy place in the summer, but super quiet in the winter.
