Wow, now you've been to two Ulurus on two different continents. This one was about 10 cm high and grey. I don't think you'll get the two confused.

Day 3 on the Thames Path. Sorry that I've already taken you here but I was trying to get the mileage correct. Cooler than my last two days on the path. The blackberries are getting past their prime. 27 km to go today....

Visited 9/20/2016 Wombatwandering took it to Paddington Dare (W London) London, United Kingdom - 65.73 miles  Visit Log

Time to get the train and head back to the Thames Path. Stopped in to see the famous bear at Paddington Station first.

You've made it to Lechlade. It has been another gorgeous English day here, 28c, but thunderstorms are on their way and the forecast is for a wash out tomorrow. With that in mind, I'm going home for a few days. This path is close enough and easy enough to get to that I can come and go as I like. The Thames River here is wide enough to turn a canal boat around in. I started seeing the first boats on the river just near here.

Visited 9/15/2016 Wombatwandering took it to Thames Path - Inglesham Copse Southern England, United Kingdom - 2.96 miles  Visit Log

You've passed horses, other hikers, and dog walkers to get here but now you need to battle cars. The Thames has meandered elsewhere while the Thames Path heads to some busy road walking.

Visited 9/15/2016 Wombatwandering took it to Church Micro 635 … Castle Eaton Southern England, United Kingdom - 1.11 miles  Visit Log

Checking out this 12th century church so you can get some culture but more importantly, having a break on the nice dry seats. Despite it being a warm day, the grass is still wet from the heavy dew, so I'm trying to dry my feet out a bit. I'm missing my proper hiking boots.

Visited 9/15/2016 Wombatwandering took it to Little Bridges #894 Thames Path, Spinney Southern England, United Kingdom - 1.49 miles  Visit Log

Day 2 on the Thames Path. Today is 18 km to Lechlade. Yesterday was 20km. Another warm one forecast but the grass is all dewy causing my shoes to be wet straight off.

You stayed overnight at the Red Lion in Cricklade. A very nice place. The beer garden was pretty full after such a warm English day. There are just three other hikers staying here. None are geocachers and in fact one pompous guy gave me a lecture about using a GPS rather than relying on signs like him. Signs are last thing I rely on. We cross crossed throughout the day. I'm sure he thinks I'm standing around waiting for my GPS to pick up a magic signal that will tell me which way the path goes.

Visited 9/14/2016 Wombatwandering took it to Thames Path - Poplar Trees Southern England, United Kingdom - 2.7 miles  Visit Log

I'm including this log because I had to battle through a field of stinging nettles. If I have to endure the pain, you have to have a record of it!

Visited 9/14/2016 Wombatwandering took it to Waterworld (Glocs) Southern England, United Kingdom - 1.7 miles  Visit Log

This was an odd spot. Gated communities around man made lakes. Hard to believe it's such a sought after area. Very unfriendly place.
