In October, 2011, the Berkshire geocachers had an idea! Why can't we have a MEGA event in Massachusetts? Anything is possible if we really want it! That idea became a dream, and soon a small committee was formed. We would host the first MEGA in MA, no, not just MA but all of New England!!!!!! With the help of 665 cachers from as far away as Hawaii, Germany, and Spain, on Saturday, July 7, 2012 the Berkshire GeoBash (CG36CCE) became THE FIRST MEGA EVENT IN NEW ENGLAND!!!! With the great support from GroundSpeak, cache reviewers, and the geocaching community our dream came true!
We are planning to do it all over again, and we know you won't want to miss this opportunity! Please help us to spread the good word. Berkshire GeoBash #2 (GC3G4AY) will be happening on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Bousquet Mountain in Pittsfield, MA!
The Berkshires are beautiful to visit anytime of the year, but the summer offers many activities, such as geocaching, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, camping, Tanglewood, culture and more! There is something for everyone to enjoy!
