10/01/2007 - Same name, different critter. Let's hope this ones last a loooong time.
09/23/2007 - We had a number of Travel Bugs go MIA over the last few years. This is one of them. We have gathered them from the Great Beyond and are starting them back on a new journey.
Please take the time to help this TB on his mission to see the country…….. To infinity and beyond. (B. Lightyear, circa 1997)
T.T.B.F.K.A.S. was released into the wild on August 18, 2003. This Travel Bug is a reincarnation of the Spike TB.
The original Spike began his life as a railroad spike in a West Central Florida cache. He did some traveling for a brief period of time, ending up in Jekyll Island. From there, he attempted to board a plane for a flight to Washington State. The crack security team at the airport deemed him to be a dangerous weapon and detained him. Spike is currently in the Travel Bug Witness Protection Program. Fortunately, his TB ID Tag was returned to his owner.
T.T.B.F.K.A.S. should not suffer the same fate as his namesake, but care should be taken when traveling with TB’s.
His current goal is to get back out to Seattle Washington to resume his tour of the Northwest.

Picked up Spike from Sunnidale Slog. He was hiding out behind a rock in the cache. Hoping the dogs in the leash free zone wouldn't find him. We jumped out of the cache at us begging to be moved to another location. So we agreed to spring him. But hope he won't cause havoc like all furbies tend to do.

When we dropped TTBFKAS off in Lookout Valley, he seemed nervous for some reason. Upon returning home, we discovered why: his zip lock bag and travelling papers were still sitting on the kitchen table!
When TTBFKAS showed up a while later in our own back yard in the Sunnidale Slog cache (cache #1!), I took the opportunity to return his travelling gear to him.
As you can see from the picture, he is quite pleased.

I found TTBFKAS while on a 3-cache tour of the Copeland Forest by bike. S/he will be joining the whole family on Monday for a Thanksgiving excursion, which luckily, in accordance with his goal, will be slightly west of his former location in Copeland Forest. Very slightly.
