    Today was my second time to visit the summit of Mt. Whitney, 7-23-09, my birthday was the first. Today was a few days after my birthday, but making the climb from Whitney Portal in the wee hours of the morning was just as exciting today as it was my first time.
    There was more snow on the mountain this year than the time before, but I made good time (for an old guy)reaching the summit in 6 hours 39 minutes. Hiking alone is always a bit of a drag, but the views were again awesome and I enjoyed the grandeur of this beautiful area. I brought some TB's along for the adventure, but left none at the cache. Thanks for making this cache possible! 😁
