1000 finds altogether, but it all started with a single step . . . and then a mile, and so on . . . just like The Proclaimers sang . . . this geocoin just wants to keep on walking and clocking up the miles and the caches and cachers it can visit.
The original elegant Geo-Achievement coin was plated in 24K polished gold. The coin measured 1.75" in diameter and was decorated with translucent hard enamel colours of green and black on the front and solid hard enamel colours of the geocaching logo on the back. It was engraved with badgerbaby just above the trackable code on the reverse.
With apologies to the Proclaimers, this is something of a mantra to me.
When I wake up... Yea I know I'm going to be I'm going to be the badger waking next to you
When I go out... Yea I know I'm going to be I'm going to be that badger going along with you
If I 'm caching... Yea I know I'm going to be I'm going to be the badger caching out with you
And if I find them... Yea I know I'm going to be I'm going to be the badger finding them with you
But I would walk 500 miles, And I would walk 500 more
Just to be the one who walk a thousand miles to find the caches - and just one more!!!
THIS IS A COPY OF THE ORIGINAL COIN THAT DISAPPEARED BEFORE ITS TRAVELS HAD HARDLY BEGUN. THESE COINS COST £15 AND THE ENGRAVING ANOTHER £10. I CANNOT AFFORD TO THROW AWAY THIS MUCH MONEY AND THEREFORE HAVE CREATED A 'POXY PROXY'. NOWHERE NEAR AS GLORIOUS AS THE ORIGINAL, BUT IT CAN HOPEFULLY MAKE THOSE THOUSAND MILES. . . .

The start of the journey. A gold and green coin going into a cache on a lush green field filled with golden buttercups. Travel far and be safe. x

1,000 finds and what a fabulous coin to celebrate! Enjoy a cacher's supper (not a ploughman in sight) of local cheese and crusty bread to celebrate the occasion. x
