FIRST FINDER. This was a lot of fun for a cache that is right in my backyard. I had my first mate Gilligan, I mean Drat19, with me this morning as we headed out towards the Island. I know how the Skipper felt when he went on a Three Hour Tour. We made it to within 40 yards of the beach when we ran out of enough water to float the boat. Well, willpower prevailed, so we kicked off our shoes, rolled up our pants and waded ashore leaving the boat anchored in a whole 16 of water. Found the Cache easy enough with the good coord's and excellent hint.
I took Antsy the Anteater TB. I left a new log-book and pen for the cache.
Prior to wading back, I told Drat to shuffle his feet along the bottom as we waded back out to the boat. He wanted to know why. I said it was to scare the stingrays off before he stepped on them with his size 13EEE's. Now he's mad at me and wanted to know why I didn't tell him about the stingrays earlier on the way in. I said, because if I told him then, he wouldn't have gotten out of the boat. Now that he was on the beach, it was either play Robinson Crusoe or wade. With no man Friday to look out for him------he waded.
It was an uneventful trip back to the boat and the Biloxi Small Craft Harbor. When we reached the boat ramp, Gilligan, I mean Drat19, stood at the bow to climb up to the ramp's pier. Well his timing was a little off, and before I knew it he was hanging on to the pier while his 10 little toes were trying to stay on the boat. I know he must be at least 2 taller after he was stretched out over the water. Thank God for those size 13's. I don't know how he did it, but he managed to climb up without falling into the drink. Everything was anti-climatic after that and we were off to our next big boating adventure at the Coal Pit Cache on the Pearl River.
