Current Goal

The trackable item you are holding is a coin proxy. The real coin is far too valuable to me to send it out to go missing or stolen in the world of geocaching. Take lots of pictures of horses and especially horse racing and horse tracks and post them here please. If you want to see the real coin just come find me at an event. I always have it on me.

About This Item

RdR1

I was given this coin by David aka Rey del Roble himself at the Goin' A.P.E.! event just prior to GW8, near Seattle.

It was instantly my favorite coin alongside the Moun10bike coin I received just the night before. That's no small feat. I had coveted the Moun10bike coins for YEARS never thinking I would own one and I had never even heard of this guy Rey del Roble before, but GAWD what a beautiful coin.[8D] That and the story behind it coming into my collection are why it's my favorite coin I own.

According to David, I earned the coin by making one of my patented colorful remarks on the event page which I then immediately deleted.

There were dozens upon dozens of watchers on that cache and my remark hit their email which was my intent. I actually placed the note to be able to drop/visit trackables into the event, but rather than leaving a boring drop/splat log which I would delete anyway, I like to have a little fun. Every now and then someone like David will read what I wrote and get a chuckle which is also my intent. The ones that don't laugh generally keep their children away from me which is also my intent. [;)] You'll have to ask David what I said. I ain't tellin'.[:P]

Funny thing. When I showed off this coin and the Moun10bike coin at the next 8 or so events that week, it was THIS coin that had locals exclaiming "How the hell did you get THAT?!" Evidently these coins are even rarer than Moun10bike's coins in the Seattle area.

Thanks David! This coin is still my favorite coin even after all this time. I love telling the story of how I got it and what happened when I showed it off around Seattle. It's one of my favorite geocaching stories.[^]
