About This Item

This travel bug was part of a family challenge for 2013, 2014 and has now been reset for 2015.

Challenge history - We discovered geocaching in 2012 and enjoyed it so much that when we all received travel bugs as gifts at xmas 2012 we decided to set a challenge. These are the first travel bugs we have released to the wild and so thought it would be appropriate to set a relatively easy challenge. We all liked the idea of seeing how many countries our bugs can travel through and which one would get the most milage throughout the year. There was a time limit on the race, which ended on the 31st December 2013 & we were aware that it may hamper the chances of travelling from country to country as people may be reluctant to pick it up so we thought we could add a second part to the challenge; the most caches visited.

There are 4 travel bugs taking part, including this one under the name 'Travel Bug Bowerman Family Challenge'

They are;

Morgana - TB55DGC
Sagittarius - TB55DG6
Diamond - TB55DGN
Giant - TB4XQM7

The Winner of 2013 was Sagittarius having travelled through 5 different countries & 153 caches, totalling 2064 miles!

2nd - Diamond, 1 country, 801 miles & 51 caches.

3rd - Morgana, 1 country, 680 miles & 93 caches.

4th - Giant, 1 country, 405 miles & 41 caches.

The Winner of 2014 was Sagittarius having travelled through 8 different countries & 250 caches, totalling 2922 miles!

2nd - Morgana: 7 countries, 69 caches & 18383 miles.

3rd - Giant: 4 countries, 63 caches & 8800 miles

4th - Diamond: 1 country, 390 caches & 1008 miles

A big thank you to everyone who helped them on their way.

So let the Bowerman Family Challenge of 2015 begin!

We would love it, if when logging, you could include a bit about where you found the bug and how you will help it onto the next stage of it's quest. Thank you & happy caching!
