We'd like this little duck to travel far and wide. It doesn't matter where he goes, just as long as he GOES! He's starting out in Canada, so maybe he'll see the US, or Europe, or Asia?

About This Item

Our little ducky before we set him free

Diefenbaker Duck was launched in April of 2003. He's a friendly little guy who plays well with other animals. He'd love to have his picture taken, especially with children, other travel bugs or in/around his current cache location. Actually, anything would do. The more photos the better! A special note - please don't hold on to Diefenbaker Duck for too long. It makes him anxious if he's stuck in your car's glove box for weeks on end. We'd rather you moved him along a short distance instead of waiting for the perfect longer move.

Diefenbaker Duck has made a new nest in California. He now rests in Cows, Llamas, and Pig Faces, awaiting the next leg of his now-international journey. He knows he is right on the SUV flyway that takes people up to Yosemite National Park. He is excited. Happy travels, DD, and have a safe journey!

While in Europe on vacation with Radikel and RowdyBunchMom, I took the opportunity to retrieve the TB Diefenbaker Duck from the geocache Bordeaux. The cache asked for wine labels for trade items, but I had none. TNLNSL but then I noticed there was a TB Canada goose with no explanation on it. Grabbed it and plan to take it to California next.

  • Amsterdam neighborhood of Bordeaux With all the canals and polders in Holland, Diefenbaker Duck must have thought he had it made. When I retrieved him from Bordeaux, however, he said nothing and came willingly. He travels well, and he seems to know the way over the polar cap to North America. Hope he likes California.
