Atlântida é uma ilha lendária que se encontra "na frente das colunas de ércules" no Atlântico. Foi mencionado pela primeira vez pelo filósofo grego Platon (428 / 427-348 / 347 aC). Foi um poder marítimo que conquistou muitas partes da África e da Europa. De acordo com a lenda Atlantis afundou no oceano "em um único dia e noite de infortúnio" depois de uma tentativa fracassada de invadir Atenas. A partir desse dia, uma Atlântida nunca foi vista novamente.
Atlantis is a legendary island lying "in front of the Pillars of Hercules" in the Atlantic. It was first mentioned by the greek philosoph Platon (428/427-348/347 BC). It was a sea power that conquered many parts of Africa and Europe. According to the legend Atlantis sank into the ocean "in a single day and night of misfortune" after a failed attempt to invade Athens. From that day one Atlantis has never been seen again.
