20 Jahre Mauerfall Geocoin

Das ist ein ganz schoener Ost West Geocache coin zur Erinnerung von 20 Jahre seit Fall der Mauer. Ich kann mich an die Zeit gut erinnern. Kurz vorm Mauerfall war in Dresden wirklich der reinste Wahnsinn los. Am Hauptbahnhof konnte man nirgendswo mehr hin. Am 8. November, 1989, sagte Mutti zu uns das wir uns mal schnell fertig machen sollen da wir in die Tschechai in den Urlaub fahren. Ein Wochentag und noch dazu waerend der Schulzeit? Und wir fahren in den Urlaub? Hab da schnell mitbekommen das was anderes los ist. Mutti hat mir dan auch gesagt das wir nach Prag fahren und von dort aus in den Westen. Musste aber alles verheimlichen da es meine kleine Schwester ja auch nicht wissen sollte. Noch schnell ein Lieblingsplueschtier genommen, alles andere blieb da. Oma hat uns dan auch mit ihrem Lada abgeholt und wir sind los in Richtung CSSR gefahren. Der Grenzuebergang war voll stressig. Der Soldat mit seinem Gewehr wollte dan auch wissen wo wir hin fahren. Hat aber nicht Oma oder Mutti gefragt, sondern mich. Ganz natuerlich habe ich ihm auch gesagt das wir nach Doksy in den Urlaub fahren. Da waren wir ja letzten Sommer. Er hat uns dan auch endlich durchgewunken. Am Bahnhof in Prag war es total verrueckt, schnell Omi einen Kuss gegeben und Mutti, Schwester und ich sind im Zug verschwunden. Die Ankunft im Westen wurde angesagt indem alle moeglichen Leute im Zug ihre Ostdeutschen Personalausweise aus den Festern warfen. Am naechsten Tag, als meine Schwester und ich mit anderen Kindern auf der army base Ball spielten, hiess es ploetzlich ... Die Mauer ist gefallen!

It is a really nice East West Geocaching coin in memory of the 20 year anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall. I can still remember it like it was yesterday. Shortly before the Wall came down, things went crazy in Dresden. You couldn't get anywhere anymore from the main trainstation.
November 9th, 1989, my mom says to us to get ready quick, we're going to Czechoslovakia on vacation. On a weekday? During the school year? And we're going on vacation? I figured out real quick that something else was up. Mom did finally tell me that we are going to Prag and from there will take the train into West Germany. We had to keep it a secret from my sister as they had shooting orders at the border. We were told to make sure to take our favourite stuffy on vacation. Everything else stayed behind. Our Oma came and picked us up in Opa's Lada and wie drove off towards the CSSR. Crossing the border was nuts. The armed border guard wanted to know where we were going. He didn't ask my mom or my Oma, he asked me. Thankfully we'd been on vacation in Doksy during the summer so I told him that that was where we were heading. Finally, he let us through. The trainstation in Prag was completely chaotic. We barely had time to say our goodbyes to Oma and already my sister and I were dragged onto the overflowing train by our mom. We knew when we'd crossed into West Germany by the amount of East German personal identification papers being tossed out of the train windows. The next day, my sister and I were playing with some of the other kids on the Army Base ... all of a sudden, it moved like a wave through the people ... The Wall is down!!
