JV Cycle

Last stop of the day, we enjoyed a few beers and some good dinner at Shorts. Then came to this one for a DNF but it was nice to walk a bit before jumping on the bike and heading out on the road.

Lots more rain, although light, we had decided to fast forward the trip after our last stop. But there were restroom concerns after hanging around all that running water so we decided to come here before the skipping ahead in our agenda. We are glad we did because the whole place is rather insane and we heard a lot of bad parenting: “don’t touch anything or I’ll whoop your butt” and “stop grabbing everything or we will leave right now” (of course with no follow through.) We have a plan for coming back with the kids, which is “here is $5, get what you want”.

We saw a few others in the store with HD gear, and I wanted to ask them “how did you stay so dry?” But I didn’t because I’m trying to convince some people I’m a decent guy.

Headed here for our first official stop and almost dropped the bike in the parking lot. It was all I could do to hold it up, and even when she got off I couldn’t straighten it myself. She helped and we found a board to support the kickstand. After this and another nearby cache (DNF) we climbed the stairs and found the bike just as we had left it, but gloves and seats a bit soggier.

Another stop in Manton ok our way north. Two years ago we ended up here on a whim while looking for dinner and this year we tried a different place because the planned place was too far down the road.

Headed north on the annual spring trip after a quick stop in Baldwin for some fair food. The tiger did well to get us here despite MrJVs relative lack of skills, and being fully loaded to boot. Then we parked and went for the find which took quite a while really, especially because we hadn’t marked the bike and disagreed about which way to go. Eventually we got back and MrsJV was excited to try her new hair thing she bought from the Baldwin vendors. It still didn’t work inside her helmet, so she put it away. At the next cache she realized she didn’t have it anymore so we came back this way to see where we dropped it. MrsJV took her typical gear nap and MrJV took the Tiger much better through the sandy two track and quickly to the parking spot. It wasn’t to be though, no luck finding the head thing.
