Long ride home getting longer as we get more tired. Stopped here for a good long rest. Met a unique character with a two horse team pulling a custom made buggy. He had a very unique story about a near death experience just after he retired involving a tractor tip over. After getting a lot of his life story (time in the Air Force in the 70s, married for 40 some years, kids and their professions) he started asking questions about the bike, like "why did you choose that one". I tried to answer as best I could, but we also needed to get going, so we tried to politely excuse ourselves. The next fifteen minutes of one-sided-conversation were filled with all the people he has met or known that have hurt themselves on bikes. Finally with helmets on, earplugs in, and bike started our "nice to meet you, have a good day" was finalized and we were on our way.

The bike was here last year but MrsJV was not so there wasn't any caching the. Today we enjoyed a nice rest and the breeze off the lake was excellent.

Couldn't actually get to this one, but we drove around a bit looking for a way around the construction before ultimately giving up.

Parked alongside the dirt state park road that heads to the beach and went into the bush fully geared to grab this one. The full gear was cumbersome at first, but quickly proved itself as useful against the mosquito population that was threatening to kill us.

  • Great view Parking lot wasn't the best view, but lake side wouldn't show the Tiger in the frame.

Spent a lot of time trying to find a place to loan me a large crescent wrench to help with the chain tension. Finally found a place in Pickford "Small Engine Repair". We had missed their shop hours by about 20 minutes, but stopped in just hoping. Met a woman who said "Tim is out" but let us into the shop and we got a crescent wrench. Got it and tensioned the chain, then met Jason who the lady said was "already half in the bag". He asked how the fix went, and witnessed my return of the wrench, then offered me a beer. Sad to turn him down, although that might have gotten awkward. I did have fun explaining that the wife was busy sleeping behind the dumpster at Napa while I was out trying to borrow a tool.

Unfortunately that didn't solve the problem, the chain is just shot! But t made for a great story!!

  • Small engine repair He had an appropriate sized crescent wrench, eventhough he wasn't there, the lady of the house let me in.
