The Royal Yacht is a separate command, which is administered by the Queen's Captain Hunt, members of the Queen's Royal Household. Dannebrogs full crew consists of nine officers, seven sergeants, two constables and 35 conscripts, all handpicked for the job. Since 1932 the ship has traveled over 300,000 miles and visited most of the ports in Denmark, Greenland and the Faroe Islands as well as many European and overseas ports.
The Royal Yacht Dannebrog's annual season marked by a salute from the Battery Sixtus being emitted when the royal couple on the spring board the Dannebrog and when the royal couple in late summer once again disembarking.
The Royal Yacht is, like other floating devices in the Navy, part of the maritime surveillance and sea rescue service when the ship is at sea.
