Took you to an awesome Turkish breakfast at an upmarket restaurant this morning. Damn delicious. Someone should make a place that just specialises in modern Turkish breakfasts. Serve them all day. Chestnuts marinated in honey, yes please! After that, I mopped up a few more dights for this Wherigo inc the Blue Mosque which we are not sure what all the fuss is about. Finished with a visit to the gorgeous Topkapi Palace. 🧿

Another day, another trip from Europe to Asia. So easy in Turkey, I even let my teenager travel back to Europe by public transport himself. Turkey is great for Challenge caches because GroundSpeak calls it all Asia. Mr Wombat and I took you to the museum of Turkish rock super star Barış Manço, a great find thanks to the lab cache. 👨🏻🎤

Despite a long drive back last night, I was up early so took you for a walk along the Bosphorus and checked out the sculptures and the rainbow protest stairs. Also got a view of Mr Wombat’s bridge that his work helped build across the Bosphorus. 🌉

Yesterday was modern history at Gallipoli and today was all about ancient history. Started with a look at the prop Trojan horse from the movie Troy which is at Çanakkale harbour and then headed nearby Troy.
Burak was our fantastic archeological guide. Good to have a guide here to detail what exactly you are seeing because there have been so many settlements at Troy over the millennia. Explained to Burak what Geocaching is and he said, “Wow, I’m just to F-ing excited right now!”. Could not stop laughing. Never seen someone so excited about caching. Didn’t like to break it to him that there are only two geocaches in the whole area. 🐴

Next up for you was a ferry ride accross the Dardanelles to Çanakkale, or in other words, you went from Europe to Asia. Çanakkale is a bit of a party town and our hotel was right in the centre of the action. Terrific given our predawn start this morning. It’s also badly missing all the Australian and New Zealand visitors. We were quite the novelty act.🕺
