4:55 PM – w/_c3_ and “c and j’s mom”
I had to make a pit stop in Smithfield to drop my car off. The situation would later prove to be my undoing when I visited eastern TN in a bid to reach 3K before GW5. But aborting two days earlier turned out for the better because I had a more enjoyable time and even got to hang around with CCCA for a while.
Anyway, back to this cache. I was in Smithfield and “c and j’s mom” said she couldn’t find this one. Out we went for a quick special request.
At the site, I found a few trails to follow, so did and looked for a few minutes. I didn’t have my poles and gloves with me, so had to make do with what I found around the area. After those few minutes, I found the cache, left it alone, and pointed the others to it so they could see the hide. It does nothing for a person’s growth if I disturb the hide before they see how it was hidden.
We signed the cache and c3 and I headed back to the Triad. It would be a long week and I would not get a chance to log my finds until the next week. Not that I was looking forward to logging caches anyway.
