Current Goal

To visit caches at or near civil war battle sites or memorials, pictures appreciated. I've given it a head start by taking it with me to visit most of the Little Rock Campaign sites and a couple of others.

About This Item

Front of the coin

This is a Civil War commemorative geocoin I picked up out of a cache in TX. Thought it really needed to be activated and put into service. Please - DO NOT take to Events! TB's and coins that pass an Event-horizon seldom return!

Going south to Georgia in a couple weeks. Will plan a civil war sight seeing stop. But we've got some CW history here in my county. Morgan and his raiders came through here. If you want to read more, search geocaching.com for the Morgan's Raid geocache series.

I've loaded pictures of a few of the historical signs in the area.

  • Morgan's Raid in Salem, Indiana Info sign tells it all!
  • Salem's court house and historical sign.
  • Morgan's Raid burning down Salem, Indiana
  • Past cemetary of former slaves Quakers in Indiana protected and gave land to former slaves.
  • Morgan's Raid in Scott county, IN This is the part where Morgan pasted a mile south of my present home in Scottsburg, Indiana
