Current Goal

Orca would like to meet other whales, including orcas. She would prefer to stay near the coast, visiting lots of caches close to the sea as she feels at home there.

2006 British Columbia GeoCoin - Orca


This GeoCoin has been specially released for the benefit of GeoCachers in the UK and Europe. We understand that these coins are often perceived as collectable, but please do not keep it as it spoils it for other cachers.

The rules of the game are up to the individual, but we feel swapping tracking numbers by email to get the logo isn't really part of caching, so we'd prefer it if you'd only log our coins if you've actually seen them in person.

The name of this coin reflects image featured on the coin which is a simplified First Nations design. In native stories the whale was a sea-going manifestation of the wolf (a great hunter). It was said that whales had the power to overtake canoes and turn the inhabitants of the canoe into whales.

We placed Orca in a cache in Butjadingen in the Wadden Sea. Sometimes a porpoise (small dolphin) comes up the tidal-creek. We wish Orca a plaesent journey.

We didn´t take it far, but we brought it back to the water. Over the Weser in the city of Bremen, it has connection to the open sea.
