What a rush! This geocoin and I drove down to the Gold Coast Skydivers drop zone in Lumberton, Mississippi today and engaged in my favorite pasttime - jumping out of perfectly good airplanes. It was a great day for jumping, with clear skies, gentle wind, and cool temperatures. We made a couple of jumps out of the DZ's Twin Otter jump plane from 14,500 feet, enjoyed over a minute of freefall at 120 mph or more, popped the 'chute at 3,000 feet, and had about a five-minute ride down to a soft landing back at the DZ. Pack the chute and go again. The geocoins I took up with me stayed safe (relatively) in a zippered pouch attached to my skydive rig.

Now this coin has tasted the beauty, freedom, and thrill of flight and knows why the birds sing.

Blue skies and happy caching!

  • Two geocoins on my skydive rig, ready to jump! These geocoins rode along with me up to 14,500 feet and bailed out of the airplane for a minute long freefall and a five minute parachute ride.
  • The Always Looking 99 geocoin, about to go for it!
  • Model Citizen & the GC, safe & sound after a jump. That was so much fun! Let's do it again!
  • Geocoins on my rig after jump number 1. Now its time to pack this mess back up and go again!
  • A load of skydivers lands at the DZ.
  • Skydivers board the Otter to go for an air bath.
