This Travel Bug Cache would like to return to it's owner in Salt Lake City, Utah having been to a A's game with budd_rdc on June 29, 2005. Please move it to a cache closer to Utah.
The cache went to an A's game on June 29, 2005 where A's beat the Mariners 6-2. Read the log entry for that day for a description and pictures of the game. Thanks to budd_rdc for treating the cache to a ball game!
The Travel Bug cache is a 2 quart Rubbermaid container with the travel bug tag attached to the lid. There is a log book and trading items in the container and, for all practical purposes, it is a regular cache that happens to be moved and found as a travel bug.
Trade baseball items if you have some but also feel free to trade non-baseball items, just be fair and make it fun.
How the Travel Bug Cache Works
This bug is an alternative to the no longer allowed moving caches. Of all the problems moving caches presented, I think the most significant one was that the people at geocaching.com had no control over where the caches were hidden as they moved. People were free to hide them in unacceptable places such as national parks, active railroad tracks, military installations, and other bad locations. The Travel Bug Cache avoids this by asking that it be placed no more than .10 (one-tenth) of a mile from an existing cache that is already in an approved location. The closer the Travel Bug Cache is placed to the existing cache the better. Placing it in the existing cache is ideal if the cache is large enough but very few are. Right next to the existing cache is also a good place but only if it can be put there without jeopardizing the security of either cache. If you hide it in a different place than the existing cache, please provide accurate coordinates of the new location as explained below.
For logging purposes, this Travel Bug Cache works just like any other travel bug. It's logged in and out of caches as it moves around. It is different in that it is placed either in an existing cache, right next to an existing cache, or up to .10 of a mile from an existing cache.
Guidelines for the Travel Bug Cache:
- When you pick up the cache, record your find by "grabbing" the bug by entering the travel bug tracking number on the "Track Travel Bugs" page. If you can, enter a note in the logbook of the nearby existing cache that you have taken the Travel Bug Cache so others won't go looking for it.
- Write down the Travel Bug Caches tracking number because you will need it to make notes on the bugs page after you have re-hidden the Travel Bug Cache.
- Find an existing cache that would help the Travel Bug Cache meet its goal and physically take the bug to the existing cache location.
- Place the Travel Bug Cache at the existing caches' location. If it isn't in or right next to the existing cache, provide the new coordinates on the page for this Travel Bug Cache. Please don't hide it more than .10 of a mile from the existing cache. Please conceal it well to prevent accidental discovery by non-cachers.
- After hiding the Travel Bug Cache, please enter a note into the logbook of the existing cache stating that you have hidden the Travel Bug Cache nearby and provide coordinates if necessary.
- When you log your find of the existing cache the Travel Bug Cache was placed next to, click on the button next to the little window that says "If you left a traveller from your inventory, select it here" and click on "Going to an A's Game Travel Bug Cache". You can also use the "Post A Note" selection to check the bug into the existing caches' page.
- If the Travel Bug Cache was not placed in or right next to the existing cache, use the bugs tracking number to post a note on the bugs page giving the coordinates of where you hid it. You might also want to list the bugs new coordinates in your log entry of the existing cache.

I enter these codes manually after writing them down; I am dyslexic and if I have entered the code improperly and in error, please be kind and just delete my log and not send hateful emails to me please.

Picked it up from where cavespencer hide it for me. Thanks to everyone who helped it reach it's goal and especially to budd-rdc who took it to an A's game and put some really great pictures of the game in the cache.
