Swiss GeoCoin - Helvetii


This GeoCoin has been specially released for the benefit of GeoCachers in Europe. We understand that these coins are often perceived as collectable, but please do not keep it as it spoils it for other cachers.

The rules of the game are up to the individual, but we feel swapping tracking numbers by email to get the logo isn't really part of caching, so we'd prefer it if you'd only log our coins if you've actually seen them in person.

Confoederatio Helvetica is the country's official Latin name. The use of Latin avoids having to favour one of the four national languages and the abbreviation (CH) is similarly used. The Latin title Confoederatio Helvetica means Helvetic Confederation. The Helvetii were the Celtic inhabitants of modern Switzerland who migrated from Southern Germany to Switzerland in the first century BC and were described by Julius Caesar in his "De Bello Gallico".
