Many people lately have been discussing, heatedly if I might add, if we should do more to stop immigration to the United States. Perhaps we should do more to educate those who are here already? The argument could be for or against with little or no effort on anyone's part. I certainly hope we can all just take a moment to look back at history and do our best to learn from it instead of making mistakes over and over again.
This coin has a dream to be seen with a new immigrant who has taken the tests and done the hard work to become a real American citizen at that person's swearing in ceremony. Take it along with you and perhaps if you know someone working to become a citizen you can mention the coin to them and introduce them to Caching. We could always use more cachers!
This coin was released as a FTF for a cache we placed here in Northern California. Please, DO NOT collect this coin. It is meant to travel and see the world through the experiences you the Geocachers will give it. To keep it would be a hideous act and deprive all others of the chance to enjoy its company. So, pass it on to the next cache after you've enjoyed it, others will thank you for it. At events feel free to pass the numbers around so other's can "Discover" it but keep it and place it in a real cache so it won't be lost. I've lost too many to the "Event Collectors" I thank you for it ahead of time...

Sorry I kept this one for so long. Had wanted to do something special with it, but never found the right inspiration.
Dropped the coin in a cache not too far from Seattle's World Trade Center http://www.portseattle.org/business/conferencefacilities/wtc.shtml

What a great coin, both in terms of how it looks and the message it spreads - thanks for sharing it!
Don't think I know of anyone taking a citizenship test in the near future, but both parts of my family emigrated from Europe in the early part of the 20th century. Other than Native Americans, we're all immigrants here in the US...

Winter has hit in Alaska making it tough on us cachers up here in the North. Haven't found a good place to leave this coin yet, but don't fret, it's safe with us until we do!
