Current Goal

We would like for this travel bug to travel the world and see many of the wonders and beauty that surround you. Please take pictures and maybe write a little about the area. It would be nice for us to do the traveling but we will have to have you introduce us to many of the places we would like to visit and to those places unknown to us.

Grab It (Not from a Cache) 11/3/2014 tikitour grabbed it   Visit Log

Met up with the lovely owners of this special TB while staying with my Tiki tour sister in Ithaca, New York state.
I will take it with me on my travels around USA and then I will take it down under back to my home in New Zealand.
I have an event in Whangarei in a few days and will drop it in there to visit and hopefully be discovered by some local cachers before I find a new home for it to travel on.
I hope it has many years and sees lots of different places. It was lovely to meet you both and it was great fun finding a couple of caches while out and about with you.

Discovered It 10/25/2014 Tiki tour discovered it   Visit Log

Discovered this special 50th Anniversary travel bug as it was handed from this lovely couple, over to my sister tikitour who has taken it down to New Zealand - wishing it many years of happy travels.

Picking up our coin and will wait until someone special comes along and grabs it from us and begins its journey to places unknown. Hopefully there will be years of adventures ahead for our special travel bug.

Dropped Off 10/4/2014 Hours together placed it in Team Garmin Coin Vault Maine - 506.3 miles  Visit Log

After a lovely trip we are back at the Delorme Map Store and will virtually pick up our travel bug from the Virtual cache there. There are maps from all over the world. Which way might our travel bug go? We're hoping for lots of travel all over the world. Maybe even a fellow geocacher that we met at the 1st International EarthCache Event in September 2012 may meet up with it.

We will pass it on to someone special -- some where to continue the travels of our 50th Anniversary travel bug. We wish to thank whoever may be part of it's journey.

We are now in New Brunswick. The first place of interest is the reversing falls at Saint John. This is where at high tide the water flows in the river and at low tide the water flows out of the river back into the Bay of Fundy.

Our next main stop is at Hopewell Rocks in New Brunswick. It is a great joy to again be here in this area where you can walk on the ocean floor at the Bay of Fundy, home of the world's highest tides. After several hours these rock formations will look like islands in the water.

Going to New Brunswick

Dropped Off 8/17/2014 Hours together placed it in Team Garmin Coin Vault Maine   Visit Log

Our 50th anniversary -- where to go, tent camping and canoeing in the mountains or go to Maine's rocky coastline. Finally the choice is made. This year it is Maine. As always when in Maine we stop at DeLorme in Yarmouth.

Next decision to be made, do we start our travel bug from Maine or at home?. After much talking on the way to Maine we came to the conclusion that we will start it in Maine. We will put it virtually in the cache at DeLorme and leave it there until we return from Nova Scotia since our anniversary is in two trips this year. Our first is going to Maine over our anniversary. Then we will go back home to Upstate New York and in September go through Maine on our way to Canada. Not sure if it is a correct thing to do to take your travel bug along with you for miles. But since it is a special anniversary decided to do so.
