I was a rescue dog who was tied to a tree for the first 3 years of my life. When my owners moved, they left me tied there. I was taken in by a neighbor and then transferred to a rescue group. I was finally adopted by a kind family who didn't care if I dug holes in their yard to keep the moles away as that was the only job I could do in my first home. I have continued to protect their yard from these underground menaces and expanded my job description to include keeping their yard as a no-fly zone for birds, airplanes and butterflies, but I long to see other places, places that the birds and the flying humans get to see. Please help me to see new places through your eyes. Tell me about what you see and my human will read it to me when you do.
HSS (Houston Sheltie Sanctuary) is a breed specific dog rescue group dedicated to rescuing and finding homes for lost, abandoned or rescued Shelties. They are a non-profit, no-kill organization that has saved over 1150 dogs since 1998 through the efforts of over 50 volunteers who provide love, care, food, transportation, temporary homes and medical care through donations and fund raising. Dogs who are too ill or too old to be rehomed are cared for in loving foster homes for the remainder of their lifetime. More information can be found on the Internet.
