In 2012 the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County began the celebration of their 100th anniversary (in 2015) with the Geocaching Passport Challenge.

 

Eight caches located in preserves which were purchased between 1965 and 1990 were selected for the Passport Challenge. This coin was awarded for collecting stickers from five of the caches. This first coin of the series was not trackable. So I made it trackable by "attaching" it to a newly activated travel bug dog tag.

The five caches I found in 2012 were:

Nov 13 - No Cache is an Island

Nov 23 - Up Salt Creek without a Cache

On the way to the GI Film Festival we had a little monkey business to attend to. We handled it in short order. At the final we could have loitered for a while, but had a couple other puzzle caches along our route. And it's too cold and wet for dragonfly watching.😉

Had a lot of fun doing this multi. Took some time and effort finding S1, since I was erroneously connecting the S2 hint with S1. Then when I found S2 I was thinking there was a S3, but couldn't make out any coordinate numbers on the small sheet. Wait a minute... this is the logsheet for the final. 😁
Still I had used up enough time that I scrubbed the mission to the two popular Papa Swede traditional creations nearby, since I had to get to LA Fitness to pick up my wife and her friend in twenty minutes.
I'll give them the time they deserve another time. This cache gets the favorite point today.

I was confused by the recent logs, so went today to investigate. The cache was right where I placed it, but when I checked the description of how to get there from the number tile, I realized my cardinal compass point was off by 45 degrees. Sorry about that.
So I confiscated both rummikub tiles that were left lying where only one was supposed to be. I dropped a new number tile and moved the cache to the place corresponding to that number. So all the confusion and ambiguity has been rectified, and the cache ready to be found. I will not archive this and the other caches before October 31.

I rehid the final of this series today in a different place. So I came by here and changed the west coordinate to it. If you have already found this cache, and still want to find the final, take the west coordinate you have for this cache and add .041 to it. The north coordinate did not change. So the new final is directly west of the missing one. All three caches will stay up at least until October 31.

I went to replace the missing final today, but there were muggles too near the cache and they weren't going to go away. So I went farther west to hide a new cache. The north coordinate stays the same, but if you have already found "It All Adds Up", take the west coordinate you have for this cache and add .041 to it. So it's about 185' directly west of the previous cache.This cache will stay up at least until October 31.
