In 2012 the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County began the celebration of their 100th anniversary (in 2015) with the Geocaching Passport Challenge.
Eight caches located in preserves which were purchased between 1965 and 1990 were selected for the Passport Challenge. This coin was awarded for collecting stickers from five of the caches. This first coin of the series was not trackable. So I made it trackable by "attaching" it to a newly activated travel bug dog tag.
The five caches I found in 2012 were:
Nov 13 - No Cache is an Island
Nov 23 - Up Salt Creek without a Cache
Nov 23 - Est. 1929 FPDDC 100 years
Nov 23 - YWFP Redux
Nov 23 - Non-Native Series - Tangled

Stopped here with a grandchild to give this cache a shot, but had to wait out a dog walker on a smoke break about 15' from ground zero. When they finally moved on we approached GZ from two levels. I took the high way and she took the low. This being our first stop of the day, we gave it only a couple minutes of effort, but neither of us came up with the prize.๐ But Bunny B really liked the park, so it was well worth the visit.๐

At GZ we saw several possible hosts, but found it in the first one we checked, (it wasn't that hard to figure out). I was expecting a much larger cache container, and I had a pocket full of swag I wanted to unload here. So I went back to the car and found an unused CITO bag, and filled it with a few toys. I placed it in the cache host next to the cache container.
It would have been nice to meet one or more of the CO's, but we didn't even see a single face in the entire neighborhood! Thanks for the most enjoyable cache of the day. Sorry I can only give it one favorite point.

Out on a morning cache run with sunnysidesouth. This cache was in the middle of our chosen "playing field" for today, and at the top of our "must do" list. Wasn't sure what to look for until we got there. I started searching when my GPSr zeroed out, and found what we were looking for in the very last host I checked. Cool container!
At the final I also thoroughly searched my initial ground zero area in futility. Then as my GPS needle changed directions, I found the cache in the last place I looked! Thanks Reetaville for another well done multi! Have another favorite point. ๐

Considering the string of DNFs, I assumed the cache was missing. I had some ready-to-place containers with me. But when we arrived around noon we saw a young lady park right in front of ground zero. A lunch break could last an hour!๐ฎ So I walked over to the area playing nature photographer. I took multiple photos of the pond and the tree, and was behind it (I couldn't see her, so she couldn't see me) as I very quickly wedged a small pill bottle into the only nestling spot in the tree. I then continued taking nature photos of the scenery for a minute before walking back to my car. I believe my acting and sleight of hand was good enough to fool someone primarily interested in eating and resting. ๐

Deja vu! When we got to GZ it looked a lot like the last time I was here, white and frozen. But it was not Xtreme like the last time, and I found the cache in the first place I looked!
Two frowns ๐๐ turned upside down!๐ I can finally say...TFTC!

Before meeting up with our daughter and granddaughter at Hollywood Boulevard to see the new Star Wars movie, we made a cache run around the mall across the street. We came over here to do "just one more" before going over to the theater. The cache here was missing. I figured it might be, so I brought a pill bottle and log sheet with me, and placed it. I'm hoping that is OK with the CO. Let me know if its not. The cache is "filled to the brim" with appropriate swag for an adult or a child.

Got the west coordinate Wednesday at Brideless Groom. Went home and reviewed the clips more carefully, and came up with good looking numbers for the final.
Today I took the eldest G-kid to Old Grau Mill at her request, but told her we'd be stopping to find this cache first. We looked for five to ten futile minutes (shouldn't be that hard) within a radius of about 25 feet. I finally surrendered and we started heading for the car. Still scratching my head over our failure, cavy calmly exclaimed, "Hey Grandpa, there it is."
I have to get her out geocaching more often.๐

Thanks Gwen for hosting the GIFF once again. Glad we finally made it to one. Your helpers were well chosen. I would have given this at least a D/3.5 rating. That's how hard it was to pick a favorite film. Not only that, I would have given the event itself a favorite point, but it wouldn't let me!

On our way to the CO's Geocaching International Film Festival event, we stopped here to attempt one of her many fun puzzle caches. So it wasn't a big surprise to see some suspicious activity at S1 when we got there. "Hi K'wren, long time no see!" We verified the coordinates, and we both had the same plan, to get to the event on time and get the cache afterwards.
Couple hours later, after the awesome Film Festval, (and loitering for a minute or two) I drive to the cache location, get out of the car, head for the cache, and who do you imagine is walking away from it? "Well, did you find it?" I asked. K'wren assured me it was still there.
Thanks for everything Gwen, you provided us a with a lot of entertainment today, inside and out!

The fun puzzle I solved long ago. Makes sense to find the cache on our way to the COs big event today. Found it quickly, right where I expected it. Hmm, do I need to ask the Ouija why I'm having a deja vu here?๐
Thanks to TeamAlexAbby for hosting the Geocaching International Film Festival event, and giving me the incentive to finally find this cache today.
