Current Goal

To travel far and wide, throughout the world, in order to allow as many people (young and old) to see this little book.
As the children at Gomer are between the ages of 4 and 7 they would love to see pictures of Gomer TB in the places it visits.

About This Item

Book about Gomer ready to be launched

The book tells you a little bit about the school where Barbara has taught for 23 years.
Even though Barbara has now taken Early Retirement she still keeps in contact with the school by doing voluntary work there.

Retrieve It from a Cache 5/4/2006 ethereal.atlas retrieved it from In Dublin's Fair City Ireland   Visit Log

What a great little travel bug! I can't wait to show it the sights and take it around Dublin and Ireland!

Brought the travel bug to Kerry, one of the more scenic areas in Ireland. Myself and a friend climbed to the highest point in Ireland (over 1000m) yesterday and brought the travel bug with us. But as the cache isn't that well visited so I've left in a National Park outside Killarney. I'll load up a photograph of the mountain and my friend near the cache site when he sends it on to me.

Happy travels!

Collected from the Binfield Bank Holiday Cache Bash, quite appropriate really as I (Dorsetgal) am a retired teacher. I enjoyed reading about Gomer Infant School. Have brought the little book down to Dorset and will take onwards with me when I go travelling this week. 🙂

  • Gomer at Upton Heath My home is on the edge of Upton Heath. It is a heathland nature reserve overlooking Poole Harbour. All 6 British native reptiles can be found on this nature reserve.
  • The heathland with Poole Harbour in the distance Apart from reptiles, deer, foxes, rabbits, stoat and small amphibians also live on Upton Heath.

Poole Harbour is the second largest natural harbour in the world.
  • Beautiful views from here
  • Fire is the greatest danger to the heath The heathland recently caught fire (arson) and many repltiles and other animals were lost.
