Current Goal

When I first came in the military back in 1988 it was customary to buy a POW/MIA bracelet with the name of a POW/MIA you could relate to on it. SP6 Philip Shafer was born in Grand Junction Colorado, the same town I was born in. He was listed as MIA a little more than a year before I was born though, April 19. 1968. I haven't been back to Grand Junction in quite a long time and don't even know if there is anyone still there related to him. But I've had that bracelet for a little more than 18yrs now and it's visited every continent of this planet save Antarctica. I'd like to think this coin could do the same if people took a moment to thin of those POW/MIA's and remember as they deserve to be remembered... Post up those pictures, we'd all love to see where this coin travels to and who is spending time with it.

Please, DO NOT collect this coin. It is meant to travel and see the world through the experiences you the Geocachers will give it. At events feel free to pass the numbers around so other's can "Discover" it but keep it and place it in a real cache so it won't be lost. I've lost too many to the "Event Collectors" To keep it would be a hideous act and deprive all others of the chance to enjoy its company. So, pass it on to the next cache after you've enjoyed it, others will thank you for it. I'm saying this again just to be asured you see it. At events feel free to pass the numbers around so other's can "Discover" it but keep it and place it in a real cache so it won't be lost. I've lost too many to the "Event Collectors" I thank you for it ahead of time...

This small military museum seemed a great place to leave the coin. I hope the next cacher that retrieves it appreciates it as much as I did. Thank you, UtChaz & Family!
