About This Item

Tell me a story.

As parents we hear that quite often.  To the point that Little Mama began to write sorties and poems for the boys.  If you have a cherished story about geocaching that you would love to share please do so.  Little Mama has plans of making a book for all to enjoy about the amazing adventures that we as geocachers have.

Thanks and Cache On!

A story? How about this: I was caching on Nose Hill an approached a bush where I thought the cache was. The cache was indeed there. As I bent over to go get the cache I noticed a black and white furball right next to the cache. It was a skunk! My first reaction was to run, but logic and reason got a hold of me: I'm a geocacher -- I have to get that cache! Weighing my options, I realized I was in great risk of being sprayed, but I noticed that the skunk seemed to be sleeping. So naturally I went for the cache, holding my breath at the same time. Retreating a good 25m, I signed the log and looked at the contents. Then I realized I now had to put it back without disturbing the skunk. I neared the spot and was very very quiet, almost tiptoeing. Slowly, I placed the cache gently back next to the critter. And then I got the heck out of there. Mission accomplished!
Thanks for showing me this trackable.
