About This Item

Traveling Vicariously

This was a baseball that I got from a Major League game in Baltimore in 1985 (or so) from former Baltimore Oriole pitcher Sammy Stewart. He rolled it over the dugout after warmups and pretty much had me on cloud nine for about a month after the fact. I have never seen it as a "collectible" - just a sentimental reminder of a time when athletes made less than a couple million bucks a year...

Found ball in STL, seems it was lonely and wanted some company, so I picked it up for a playoff game at my house. I will post some photos of the time it had, and send him back on his way in a few days, maybe someone can get him to a playoff or even the world series. The ball said he wanted to become a Cardinal fan!!!!!!!
