Meet the Penguins-King Penguin: Took a quick hike up to my TB hotel this morning to exchange some bugs. I have enjoyed having you with me on my adventures but it’s time to let you go with someone else. I hope your stay is short.

Rib-a-Dub-Gandolf: Thought this was appropriate after our morning of Harry Potter wizardry up the road. Needed this piece of the 360 Degree challenge as well. Twenty eight more to go. Getting there slowly but surly.

Visited 9/1/2018 Pengwinldy took it to Freewheel California - 21.17 miles  Visit Log

Freewheel: came out to La Jolla for a Harry Potter event today and I knew I had a couple pieces of my 360 Degree Challenge to do our here so we combined the trips. Had lunch at the Sugar and Scribe up the road and after we put our name on the wait list, I took the walk to GZ. Once I got there, I happened upon a sidewalk sale. Two staff members were sitting right next to GZ and there was no way to be stealthy so I flat out asked them if they knew about the Geocache. They did and I asked them not to tell me where it was but that it would be difficult to search if they didn’t know about it. Made the find and had a nice conversation. TFTC.

Escondido Blvd #6: Trying to grab my COTD before work today and had 2 DNFs. Then I got here and had success. TFTC

Visited 8/30/2018 Pengwinldy took it to Make It Rain California - 14.83 miles  Visit Log

Make it Rain: This would be a really cool Cache, if it wasn’t wet and yucky. The hole in the lid has allowed dirt and water to get in.

Visited 8/29/2018 Pengwinldy took it to The Ten Commandments - #8: Get Good Numbers California - 25.24 miles  Visit Log

The Ten Commandments-#8- Go Get Good Numbers: cool a least term and plover nesting sight. It was pretty quiet though. The only “wildlife” I found was a ton of Ants! Good thing I’m not bothered when they crawl all over me. So many! Some cool bones but lot of gross trash, too.

NPMZCS: Mouth in Hand Disease: I had attempted to go find this one a few weeks ago but was unable to find parking so aborted my mission before it started. Today I was lucky and got a spot right away. As I approached GZ, there was a lady watching the bank parking lot. Looked like she was maybe guarding it to be sure people who parked there actually went to the bank. I’m not sure. Anyway, she was standing almost on top of GZ. I just walked by and pretended to be on my phone. Said something like “I’m here now. Are you almost here? OK, I’ll wait” loud enough for her to hear and say on the planter so I could stealthily look around the area. Saw something that intrigued me and oops! I dropped my pen. How convenient. I made the grab and signed the log without her taking any notice. TFTC. Added my penguin and took the butterfly fob.
