About This Item

This is a National Trail Geocoin. There are 15 National Trails in England and Wales, all of which provide outstanding opportunities to enjoy some of the very best landscape in the country.

They are perfect trails for walking, and on some trails cycling and horseriding.

You can enjoy travelling the full length of any of our National Trails, or even just spend a couple of hours. Whichever we expect you will have a brilliant time!

This coin started out on the Pennine Way National Trail - Britain's first National Trail, opened back in 1965. It follows the spine of the Pennine Range all the way from the rugged Peak District, through the glorious Yorkshire Dales and North Pennines, along the stirring Hadrian's Wall to the Cheviots on the Scottish Borders.

Coin has sat in the same cache since starting out its journey last year, which I thought was a shame. Will try to set out somewhere else along the Pennine way but if I can't I'll get it as close as I can
