Retrieve It from a Cache 3/24/2007 TheJ5's retrieved it from Albion's First Geocache New York   Visit Log

Found this travel bug on a very cold and rainy day. Hope to move it on soon to new adventures. Thank for letting him visit with us awhile.

This is a nice quiet place for a red bug--but I am sure that it will travel soon.

Now that the snow is melting, this little one wanted to start to travel again. It had a lovely time in North Chili with the boys--but it is off and running today.

When I was a little boy, my Uncle Nils had a bug that looked just like this. We were living in Norway at the time and I wanted to name the bug. I knew just a little Norwegian (my family is American and Dad had a temporary job teaching mathematics at the University of Oslo). So I mixed languages--adding a Norwegian ending to the American word car--and so the car was called Carden. When we moved to Canada, we bought an Opel Cadet Station wagon. I thought that this car was a girl--we called her Cardina. But Carden was my favorite car for a long time.

Now my brother Lance and his wife Caroline have a green bug with the license plate "Hop's bug."
His caching name is Cave Hop

Well, it was there for us (don't know but it could have been invisible for a while--VW bugs are magical--did you know?) Anyway, this one looks just like the bug my cousin Charles drove in the nineteen fifties, when I was a little girl. It also looks a bit like Cardin--but Sandor of HopNSeek will tell you about that.

Picked this up in a park that is just great for cruising. Will try to find a good drop off point tomorrow.
