********** I was teaching a Senior History Class at the Van Buren County High School in in Spencer, Tennessee when a fellow teacher called me to the door and said, " You may want to turn on your TV, there has been a plane crash in downtown New York". My class and I sat there and watched in silence as the second plane flew into the second tower. It was a very emotional moment for all of us.Strange how things have a way of reaching out to touch you. My students were very solemn, several sobbed when they realized that people were jumping from the buildings to escape the fire only to die on the streets below. Three of the students in that class graduated and joined the armed forces. Two are in the Army and one in the Marines- all are serving in combat in Irag today .

So i was finishd workin and i went home and saw it on TV!!! I coud not belive that!!! So we talkt in the famaly about whats happend on this day!!!

On 9/11/2001 I was in the middle of a business strategy meeting. The participants only slowly realized what really happened. Finally we realized that this was a tragedy which is going to change the world.

On 9/11/2001, I was on vacation and happened to turn on the TV to check out the weather for the day. That’s when I saw footage of the smoke coming from the twin towers.

On 9/11/01 I was between jobs and on the internet writing some emails with regard to my upcoming contract work, as a flight to Philadelphia was to be taken that week. My wife informed me that the first tower had been hit, so we went to watch the TV coverage. Of course we watched in horror the rest of the day.

I'm proud to pass this TB along as an American who is proud of our country and what we stand for. I too will remember where I was that day when the planes hit. I was 10 blocks from the White House at a convention we were hosting for thousnads of our customers. As I finished a call with a friend of mine that morning who was visiting the Pentagon, we were going there for a lunch appointment/visit. All that got cancelled when the plane struck the Pentagon, (my friend made it). Long story short, the national guard moved in and locked down the hotel and surrounding area for 3 days, with only Internet access out to family members. Several of us ended up driving back to Atlanta, Nashville, Orlando, and New Orleans sharing the only vehicle we could acquire, a Chevy Cavilear.
