Current Goal

As a gesture of International Good Will, this Nokia Travel Bug would like to eventually get over to the home of www.geocaching.ru in Moscow, Russia.

If you aren't going over to Russia anytime soon, please keep me moving from cache to cache, keep me around airports or major cities, until someone can take me with them and I can get over there!

About This Item

Calling All Cachers.jpg

TEAM 360 remembers just how difficult it was to call over to Moscow in the late 80's.

First, you would have to call the local Operator, and they would connect you to an International Operator. You would give them your number and the one you want to call, then hang up and wait. The International Operator would call an Operator in Russia, who would connect the call, transfer it back to the International Operator, and then ring you back. It usually took about 20 minutes or so.

Whew!

Nowadays, you can just pick up practically any phone and dial Moscow direct, using the dialing prefix 011-7-095 and then the local number.

TEAM 360 hopes this Travel Bug will remind you to call someone you haven't talked to in a while and just say 'hello'...

My husband and I will find a good place for it. I could take it to Lejeune with me, but it will probably have a better chance of making its way to Moscow if it stays here in Norfolk.

Figured Norfolk was a transient area with lots of people traveling so we dropped it off here to keep it moving.

Well we get it down to the Norfolk area. Lots of sailors and lots of travel. Maybe this we will get it across the pond.
