Take me to NATURE. Pin me on your shirt and take a selfie. Take me: Into the woods or up the highest mountain. Down into the canyons or across the desert badlands. We may lounge along the lake shore or jump the rocks across a stream. The river may roar and the cave may echo, but whatever you do, don't take me to a city.
“I live not in myself, but I become
Portion of that around me: and to me
High mountains are a feeling, but the hum
of human cities torture.”
― George Gordon Byron, Childe Harold's Pilgrimage
“There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society, where none intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in its roar:
I love not man the less, but Nature more”
― George Gordon Byron
(OK - do not take the "pathless woods" literally. It is kind of saying the opposite of the TB. But the poem says so perfectly what I feel about nature, I had to include it.)
