Spent two days in Chi-town, also known as the Second City and the Windy City. The second city became its nickname after the Great Fire of Chicago in 1871. The fire swept through the first city as most of the buildings were wooden. It burnt about 9 square kilometres. It became the second city as it was rebuilt again. Many architects came to rebuild the city, which is why there are many beautiful buildings. The geocache Stone faced is at The Tribute tower, it is currently being renovated to become a residential building. In the face of the building are significant pieces of the worlds history - a piece of the Berlin Wall, a part of the World Trade Center amongst other things.

Today I visited Liberty Island with the National Monument Lady Liberty standing tall. It was here that I learnt that New York was known in the early 17th century as Oyster Island for the tidal flats that contained many oysters, a valuable food source for the native people who lived here.
